Charlene & Joe: A New York City Wedding

posted in Weddings

Monday July 27, 2009

I was asked a few months ago by Dave Joe of D Moment Photography to come along as a second shooter for a wedding in NYC. How could I pass up the offer? As I got more details about the wedding day I become more and more excited about it. I mean really? Who wouldn’t be?

-Working for an amazing NYC wedding photographer? Check!

-Hot couple? Check!

-Guys getting ready at the Waldorf Astoria? Check!

-Girls getting ready at the New York Palace Hotel? Check!

-Ceremony at St. Patricks Cathedral? BIG CHECK!

-Reception at Gotham Hall? Wait? What’s Gotham Hall…? You’ll see in a minute, but yes, CHECK!

This wedding was amazing. I try to maintain a professional demeanor when shooting weddings, and it’s kinda hard to do being a natural goofball, but the whole time my mouth was wide open in amazement at the beauty of it all.

But enough words, here are my fav’s of the day.

Suit: $500
Shoes: $200
Tie: $100
Having your future brother in law running around with none of those things on: PRICELESS!

So fresh and so clean.

Heading to the church.

Charlene arrives…

Joe and Jay Ar waiting at the alter.

St. Patricks Cathedral.. nuff said.

A quick touch-up before the formals and bridal session

Hair re-do before the party.

When we arrived at Gotham Hall I was tasked with getting some shots of the centerpieces and the grand ball room. I walked into a completely empty room with just Joe and Charlene sharing a quiet moment and practicing their first dance.

Chillin in the Oak Room with Brownie the Shih Tzu.

Time to party!

BATTLE!

Meryll, the Matron of Honor, rockin it out.

My new friends Dave and Marissa of D Moment Photography

Charlene and Joe,
Congratulations! I wish you two all the best. Enjoy your honeymoon!

What do you get when you take a gorgeous couple, loyal friends, loving family and great food mixed together? A PIMPTASTIC WEDDING! That’s what… =)

Jaime and Dave were married at The Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown, NY. I’d never seen the place, but WOW! What an amazing venue. Not to mention the fantastic catering and coordination by Joseph and his crew.

Ladies and Gents… Lyndhurst Castle!

World, meet Jaime…

… the beautiful bride.

Let’s not forget Dave, our handsome groom.

This was taken just before their first time seeing each other all dressed up pretty.

Jaime with her girls.

The rose garden.

We do!

We totally did!

mmmm… cuuuupcaaaaakes.

Of course we had to break out the photo booth for some fun!

Now, I really like our backdrop but sometimes what’s behind the back drop is just as nice.  Red brick?  YES PLEASE!

I think we set a record for the largest group ever for our “booth” with this shot. The dance floor was nearly empty. =)

Jaime and Dave,

You two are an amazing couple and I’m so glad to have gotten to know you both. It was a pleasure and honor to be with you on your wedding day. Have fun in Hawaii!
